Your photo is never uploaded
This tool does not upload anything. From the moment you pick a file until you save the result, every step runs on your device, inside this browser tab. Your photo is never sent over the network, so nothing is stored on a server and there is nothing to delete later.
That also means the page keeps working if your connection drops after it has loaded. No account, no sign-in, no email address.
Re-encoding drops the original EXIF metadata: GPS location, camera model, lens settings. Only the capture date is written back. If you were going to strip location data before posting a photo somewhere, compressing it does that for you.
How to use it
Three steps. Up to 30 photos at once.
- 1Add a photoTap the + button to pick photos. You can select as many as you like in one go, or drag them anywhere onto the page on desktop. You can also paste an image from the clipboard with Ctrl+V (⌘+V on a Mac). JPG, PNG, HEIC and WebP are all read.
- 2Choose a quality levelLow, Medium or High. The setting applies to every photo you added. The moment you choose, each one is actually compressed and you see "original size → output size" per photo and as a total. The number on screen is not an estimate. It is the size of the file you are about to save.
- 3Save or shareSave downloads the compressed JPG. Two or more photos come down as a single ZIP, and the files inside keep their original names. You can also grab any one photo from the list. On a phone, the share button hands the files straight to Messages, Mail or any other app.
Which quality level to pick
The three levels set the JPEG encoding quality to 10%, 30% and 70%. None of them changes the resolution, so a 3024×4032 photo is still 3024×4032 afterwards.

How much you save depends on the photo. Large plain areas like a sky or a wall compress a lot; dense texture like leaves, hair or text compresses much less. That is why the size is computed up front. If you do not like the number, switch levels and look again.
Worth knowing
- The result is never larger than the original
- Re-encoding an already well-compressed JPG can make it bigger. When that happens the original bytes are handed back instead. A compressor should never return a larger file than it was given.
- The output is always a JPG
- Feed it a PNG or a HEIC and you get a JPG back, because JPEG compression is what makes the file smaller. Transparent areas in a PNG cannot survive that and come out black, so do not run images that need a transparent background through this.
- The capture date becomes the time you compressed it
- The EXIF capture date on the result is the moment you compressed the photo, not the moment it was taken. People compress a photo because they are about to attach it somewhere, and for that it needs to sit at the top of the gallery.
- iPhone HEIC files work as they are
- Safari reads HEIC natively. Chrome and Firefox cannot, so a decoder is fetched at the moment it is needed. Dragging iPhone photos into a desktop browser is the most common route into a tool like this, so that path was built for first.
- Multiple photos come down as a ZIP
- Save two or more and you get one ZIP file. The files inside keep their original names with a .jpg extension. A single photo is saved as PhotoSlim_date_time.jpg.
- Very large photos and how many at once
- A 100-megapixel photo can hit the browser memory ceiling. The 30-photo limit is there for the same reason. Photos are processed one at a time, so memory does not grow much with the count, but the cap keeps it safe.

›Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Compression happens entirely inside your browser. The image data never leaves your device, so there is nothing stored on a server and nothing to delete.
›Does it change the resolution?
No. This tool only adjusts JPEG compression; the pixel dimensions stay the same. Use a resize tool if you want to change the width and height.
›How small can it get?
It depends on the photo. A typical smartphone shot often lands at 5–15% of the original at the Low level. The exact number appears on screen as soon as you pick a photo.
›How do I hit an email or upload size limit?
Start at Low and read the projected size. If it is under the limit you are done; if there is a lot of room left, move up to Medium or High and get some quality back.
›Can I compress several photos at once?
Yes, up to 30 in one go. The quality setting applies to all of them, and Save hands you a single ZIP. Files inside keep their original names, so you can tell them apart at a glance.
›What if I have more than 30?
Do them in batches. A browser tab only gets so much memory, and 30 is a size that finishes safely.
›Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free, and there is no sign-up, sign-in or email step. No watermark either.
